This Apple Cider Tea Recipe uses spiced tea bags for a fast and easy spiced apple cider.
I love this time of year when the weather gets colder. It's the perfect time to cuddle up by the fire and sip a warm cup of spiced apple cider.
This recipe is so easy and fast and perfect when you are entertaining or expecting a crowd.
Instead of putting spices such as cloves, star of anise, etc., into cheesecloth, I buy different-flavored tea bags and add them to the apple cider. I also add apples, oranges, and cinnamon sticks to make my cider pretty and add more flavor. In the picture above, I added some cloves to sliced blood oranges.
Gather up your ingredients to make this yummy spiced cider!
Ingredients:
One gallon of apple cider
2-4 flavored tea bags such as Orange and Spice and Cinnamon Apple Spice
One Apple thinly sliced into wedges. Use a tart and study apple such as a Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp.
One Orange sliced into halves or wedges. I used Blood Oranges which are in season in the Fall. Put whole cloves in the oranges and then slice for a pretty presentation.
2-3 Cinnamon Sticks
1/2 to 1 cup of sugar (optional)
Directions:
Pour the Apple Cider into a Dutch Oven or large pot. You could also use a crock pot.
Add 2 to 4 flavored tea bags. I used 4 in my recipe.
Add the sliced apples and Cinnamon sticks
Add sugar
Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Add the sliced oranges with cloves.
Simmer for another 20-30 minutes.
Remove tea bags
Serve hot with a cinnamon stick
The more you simmer the cider, the more the flavors intensify. If the cider reduces too much, just add more cider or water.
Happy Holidays, you all!!
