Always a Hit with a crowd, and so easy!

Mini Bread Bowls are great for Social Distancing!

Bread bowls with cheese dip have always been a hit at my get-togethers and parties!

I have included two recipes that are sure to be a hit!

The first recipe is super easy and is always everyone's favorite. It has limited ingredients, so it is not complicated, and I never have leftovers!

Also, you may want to buy smaller bread bowls, so everyone can have their own individual bowl. Not only are these individual bread bowls adorable, but they are also a safer way to serve the cheese dip at your party. 😀

The second recipe makes the bread bowl look like a cauldron and is so fun and perfect for your Halloween party this year! 🎃

The key is to find a pumpernickel bread bowl so that it mimics a cauldron. The recipe is a little more complicated, but not difficult!

Your guests will love it! I got the idea from the Food Network. It is their basic recipe with a few changes.

The Recipes:

Be creative, the dips in bread bowls are interchangeable!

First Bread Bowl Dip: (Recipe 1)

I have made this bread bowl dip for years, and it's always a hit! So good and easy, you won't be disappointed!

Double the recipe if your bread bowl is really large.

Ingredients:

-Round Loaf of Sourdough bread

-2 Cups of Mayo

-3 Garlic Cloves minced

-1/2 Package of Dry Italian Dressing Mix

-1 1/2 Cups of Grated Parmesan Cheese

Directions:

1. Cut a circle out of the top of the bread bowl with a serrated knife and pull off the top. Scoop out the inside. The easiest tool to use is your hands. Use a knife or spoon if needed. Keep on tearing and scooping until you hallow out a good portion of the bread bowl. Leave the walls of the bowl 1/2 to 1 inch thick.

2. Tear the inside into bite-size pieces to use for dipping.

3. Combine the remaining ingredients and put them into a bread bowl.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour OR until hot and bubbling. Keep an eye on the bread bowl. If it looks like the top is getting too brown, cover it loosely with foil.

So fun and a Halloween Hit!!

Ingredients:

-One Large round Pumpernickel "bread bowl"

-3 Tablespoons unsalted butter

-1/4 cup minced yellow onion

-One tablespoon mustard powder

-1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika (I use smoked paprika)

-3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

-1 1/2 teaspoons salt, plus more if needed

-3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

-1 1/2 cups whole milk, warmed

-8 ounces cream cheese, softened

- 12 ounces of sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

-3/4 cup roasted peppers or pimentos, drained and finely diced (optional)

-1/4 cup hot green chiles, drained and finely diced

-Black pepper

-Red and Yellow sliced peppers to garnish

Directions:

1. First, prepare the bread bowl by slicing off the top 2 inches and hollowing out the center, leaving the walls of the bowl about an inch thick. Cut the top and insides of the bread into bite-sized cubes and set them aside.

Note: Try turning the bread bowl over (so the bottom is the top of the cauldron) and then Hallowing out the "new" top. This may make the bread bowl look more like a cauldron.

2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for one minute.

3. Whisk in the mustard, paprika, cayenne, and salt; cook for an additional 2 minutes.

4. Sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture and stir to combine; cook about 2 minutes more.

5. Gradually whisk in the milk and gently simmer for 2 minutes. Add the cream cheese and stir until it melts.

6. Then add the Cheddar cheese. Once all the cheeses are melted, stir in the roasted peppers and hot green chiles. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.

7. Preheat the broiler on high.

8. Put the cheese mixture into the bread bowl, and place it on a baking sheet. Broil until the top begins to bubble and lightly brown. Serve with bread cubes and sliced yellow and red peppers to look like a fire is under a cauldron.
